WORKSHOP & SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING INTERN

Are you ready to take on a new, dynamic role on the Preserved team? We are excited to be offering a unique part-time role that combines the learning opportunity of being a workshop assistant with the fun of creating dynamic social media content.

OVERVIEW

​

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist & Learn: Support our teachers during our evening workshops and soak up valuable knowledge alongside our students. You’ll also receive a workshop takeaway after every class!

  • Capture & Create: Take photos and videos during workshops to craft dynamic social media posts, including IG Stories, Reels, and Carousel Grid Posts.

  • Engage & Share: Develop a social media package after each workshop (in your own time), and post content on associated social media platforms.

 

The Details:

  • Commitment: 6-month engagement (can be long-term role if you're interested!) 

  • Schedule: 2-3 nights a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and/or Saturdays) from 6 PM to ~9:30 PM

  • Project-based compensation: $100 per workshop, including social media production

  • Social Media Pro: You’re well-versed in Instagram and Facebook posting methods and bring creative ideas for social media marketing strategies. Bonus points if you’re ahead of the curve with TikTok—though we’re not there yet, your forward-thinking might just inspire our next move!

  • Photography Skills: You have a keen eye for styling and framing, taking great photos that tell a compelling story.

  • Dependable & Flexible: You’re punctual, reliable, and have a flexible evening schedule to fit our needs.

 

Abilities:

  • You can juggle multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

  • You’re a fast learner who is organized and thrives on new challenges.

  • You’re comfortable standing for long periods, lifting up to 30 lbs, and performing physical tasks such as climbing a 10 ft ladder, squatting, bending, and reaching.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Digital Marketing: Experience with digital marketing strategies and tools.

  • Social Media Platforms: Proficiency in IG, Facebook, and TikTok.

  • Photography: Experience in capturing high-quality images.

  • G Suite: Familiarity with G Suite applications.

  • Retail POS Systems: Experience with Point of Sale systems, preferably Square.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES​

​

Workshop Assistant   

  • Prepare Workshop Space: Set up the retail area for evening workshops. Gather and distribute supplies and class handouts. Ensure the dish area and bathrooms are ready for students by replenishing soap and paper towels.

  • Student Interaction: Greet and check in students as they arrive, ensure they’re comfortably settled and distribute aprons.

  • Class Assistance: Wash, dry, and put away dishes throughout class. Support the teacher and students as needed.

  • Reset for Retail Post-Workshop: Sweep, mop, and wipe down tables and surfaces. Reconfigure tables and space for retail operations. Handle trash, compost, and recycling tasks.

  • Sales Management: Operate the register for sales made after the workshop.

  • Key-Holding Duties: Secure and close the shop at the end of the evening.

Social Media Marketing Lead   

  • Pre-Workshop Photos: Stage and take preliminary photos before students arrive.

  • In-Class Media: Capture photos and short videos during the workshop.

  • Post-Workshop Editing (at home): Review, edit, and organize marketing content (IG Stories, Reels, and Carousel Grid posts).

  • Create Copy: Write engaging descriptions, links, and teasers for social media posts.

  • Social Media Posting: Post content on Instagram and duplicate for Facebook.

  • Photo Management: Label and organize top photos for future marketing use.

  • Content Strategy: Brainstorm and develop additional social media content as needed
