Proofing Basket

  • About This Item

Made from high quality natural cane. Proofing baskets, also known as brotforms or bannetons, are used to form and shape artisan loaves during the proofing/raising stage.

    8.5" diameter. Liner included.

  • How To Use

Use the included basket liner and flour generously before placing your shaped dough inside -or- remove the liner and cure the basket before your first use. To cure: make a thin paste with 1 tbsp of corn starch and 1 tbsp of water. Using a pastry brush, thoroughly coat the inside of your basket. Let it dry completely. Flour generously before every use to avoid sticking and add your shaped dough directly into the unlined, cured basket to enjoy the beautiful pattern from the basket.

It’s best not to wash proofing baskets in between use. Simply shake out excess flour and store in a cool, dry place. If, over time, there is a build up of doughy residue, allow the basket to dry out thoroughly and brush it with a stiff but not too abrasive brush.
