About the Event

PLEASE READ DETAILS THOROUGHLY:

While this is a free event, we ask that all attendees register as we have limited space available. Please be mindful and let us know if you need to cancel so we can offer your spot to someone else. You can email us at info@preservedgoods.com.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Items are swapped one-for-one, so please keep that in mind when preparing your goods. Bring as many or as few items as you would like to take home! We also encourage you to bring a variety of ferments and preserves (i.e. it doesn't have to be all one of the same item and can be a mix and match of items that you have from your homemade pantry).

We suggest bringing a mix of 6-12 (or more) homemade items like:

  • Jams & Jellies

  • Pickles & Chutneys

  • Hot Sauces

  • Salsas & Relishes

  • Ferments of all kinds (krauts, kimchees, preserved lemons, misos, etc)

  • Herb & fruit infusions (tinctures, liqueurs, shrubs. etc)

  • Live, heirloom cultures (sourdough, kombucha, kefir, yogurt, etc)

  • Other homemade abundance!

Swapping takes place through discussion and agreement. Remember, no money is changing hands. All swaps are one-for-one and by barter only!

BE SURE TO:

  • Label all items/jars individually

  • Prepare a list of ingredients, suggested uses and/or care instructions if applicable (perhaps on a single index card - ie. for a sourdough starter, include feeding instructions!)

  • Bring samples for tasting - optional but encouraged!

PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES EARLY TO SET UP.  SWAPPING BEGINS AT 6:00!

Disclaimer:

Please be aware that all goods are made in home kitchens by private individuals, not professionals. We expect all swappers to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety in the preparation of their items. Nevertheless, by participating in the swap you acknowledge that the items available are not made in licensed kitchens or inspected by any government agency. Preserved does not provide any guarantees or assurances about the safety of the swap items.

All registered participants will receive a 10% discount on items purchased in the shop the day of the swap.
